Exploring TV Series Locations in Istanbul, Turkey

I’ve just finished a 54-episode marathon with Kara Para Aşk (en: Black Money Love). It’s been my life in whole of June 2026 enjoying this addictive series! Engin Akyürek and Tuba Büyüksü

This addictive streak of mine continues from May 2026. Back then I started watching Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne? (en What is Fatmagül’s fault?) past bedtimes..

My dear reader, if you start watching it somehow, I assure that you will get hooked to it and just forget everything but binge watching this series..

The series had been filmed mostly in Istanbul but also in Rome occasionally. Having visited the City a couple of times, the series entertained me showing gorgeous Bosporos Bridge and Valens’ Aquaduct at night ..

I can go on about reviewing Black Money Love non-stop, but this blog is about suggesting an unscripted travel to you, reader.

If you ever watch this series and want to visit any series locations, then this blog is just for you 🙂

Fatmagül Sucu Ne? Filming Locations

This series lasted whopping 80 episodes (!) and most of their scenes unfold in Istanbul proper. The characters will change their houses on the course of the series as their personal circumstances change.

Fatmagül Familiy’s First House

As they moved all the way from Izmir to Istanbul, they had to organise everything and start their new life in Istanbul. And they had to renovate that house themselves.

The protagonist Kerim is talented in anything DIY so they started living very comfortably.

The house got only the ground floor and a couple of bed rooms, a dining and living room. I always enjoyed watching the decor inside this house. It’s my dream to have sophisticated living space like this series.

Their Second House

At some point in the series, the Fatmagül Family crashed into Kadir’s house, Fatmagül’s lawyer. I don’t believe that kind of thing would happen in real life.

But I was very confused with this storyline. Sure, the client and lawyer build a good rapport and help each other outside of their consultation hours. But would they share the house??

I’d say the drama director’s imagination has no limits and in her head, them sharing the house is just possible. It just doesn’t matter if this kind of stuff happens in a real life or not.

Anyway, this lawyer’s house is a huge upgrade as compared to their first, single-storey family home. The house is located in an upmarket district, but is on quiet Anatolian side.

A huge family like Fatmagül’s would have a great time living there and growing children. Not to provide any spoiler but this house would witness key family events (yes, happy ones, I promise) as you watch more episodes.

A couple would live happily in this house – there are scenes filmed this house in a lot of romantic settings. Again not to provide any spoiler, I would not point out what scenes exactly I am talking about, but you as audience should expect any imaginable romantic scenes appearing in this house.

Fatmagül’s and Kerim’s New Home

Fatmagül would change her Istanbul home once again, but that time she only moved out with Kerim. The rest of her family do not. But some characters, mostly male ones, come to furbish/renovate the house so the two start living there.

Again, DIY skills and the decor shine in this series. How many times I felt like all the houses in the series come straight away from a very impressive housing showrooms?

You, viewers won’t see a lot of scenes in this house as the series is ending. But I also promise that those scenes are one of the most unforgettable ones in the series.
