The name Colmar had been always in my mind since when I started planning my journey to Alsace, to which ChatGPT brought me.
I asked the AI to suggest a budget trip itinerary and Alsace was on its list. Then I have started booking everything. My Airbnb was located in Strasbourg which is well-connected to Colmar by train.
On my second day in Strasbourg, I just hopped on a regional train bound for Colmar.
As soon as I emerged from the Colmar railway station, that COLMAR monument was the first thing to see. From there, the city centre is within walking distance.
Matchbox houses and the blue sky entertained me as I brisk walked the streets of Colmar.
Despite Colmar being an touristic destination, there were no annoying catcalling or tourist traps across the town. Seemed to me like it was more like a local’s hangout.
I love that feeling like I lived the moment just like the locals spend their life in where I vacation.
Colmar’s big market made me feel more like a local.
